![]() ![]() In the same thread it was mentioned one should do: Windows (if on COM10): gpsbabel-t -r -w -i m241 -f COM10 -o gpx -F data.gpx though have not tried it yet. I don't want to have to use the geotagging feature in LR. Next time I’ll try to use the built in functionality of GPSBabel to download data directly from the Holux M-241. I want the lat/long data embedded in images when I take the image. such as filtering duplicates points or simplifying tracks. It also has powerful manipulation tools for such data. Literally hundreds of GPS receivers and programs are supported. The GPSBabel executable must be accessible through the PATH. Is it possible to connect a logger (like an actual handheld Garmin device) other than the GP-E2 to the cameras? GPSBabel converts waypoints, tracks, and routes between popular GPS receivers such as Garmin or Magellan and mapping programs like Google Earth or Basecamp. The GPSBabel driver for now that relies on the GPSBabel utility to access various GPS file formats. You can download it and run it on almost any computer, but its command-line interface requires some getting used to - so I've created this on-line gateway that lets you access a copy of gpsbabel running on. Can anyone comment on how quickly it eats through AA batteries? Does the GP-E2 have any significant annoyances? GPSBabel is a freeware program that converts GPS data from one format to another. I think I need a standalone GPS unit for the cameras. I do carry two extras for it, but the GPS could kill those pretty quick if taking a lot of shots in addition to logging. I was thrilled that my 6D has built in GPS. This is the source code for GPSBabel, the free software project to manage GPS data (waypoints, tracks, routes) in your GPSes or in related programs. I was annoyed that my 70D doesn't have built in GPS. Lightroom offers powerful editing features in a streamlined interface. Basically, if there is a GPS device for something, I've got it. GPS is a huge part of my life, and I'm a bit of a junky when it comes to it. Let me preface this by indicating that my "day job" is as a geomatics professional.
